The legend of Aquarius

The legend of Aquarius - Zeus and Ganymede, oil on canvas painting

Zeus had many female lovers and one male lover, Ganymede (latin Catamitus), a young man from Troy. Zeus took the form of an eagle to take the boy to Olympus where he became the cup-bearer of gods. The ancient Greeks associated Ganymede with the constellation Aquarius.
