The archetypal tree
One night I had a dream about this tree that seems to hold the sun with it's branches. The tree is an archetypal symbol of the ego while the sun is representing consciousness deep inside our minds. The tree is the mind while the sun is the soul.

The tree of the mind
I've made the oil on canvas painting above and the ball point pen drawing below this week. This is the tree of the mind, a pyramidal neuron in the neocortex. As I said before when we draw trees we draw our neurons and that's why the trees we draw tell so much about us. Somewhere deep in our mind we somehow know that the neurons have a tree shape.

The mental tree, coffee painting
This is the tree of the mind that has the shape of a pyramidal neuronal cell, the tree that is in every human mind and that’s why psychologists use the tree test. When someone draws a tree he/she is drawing his/her mind because people tend to identify themselves with trees.
